A Citizen’s Proposal for District 15’s Next Representative
Dialogue: Biweekly town hall meetings
Every 15 days, the next congressional member should hold virtual and in-person town halls.
Regular dialogue will keep the office responsive and grounded in the community.
Accessible: Open District Office
The district office should be easy access for all constituents.
Right now, it’s tucked away on the second floor of an obscure and hard-to-reach building in Tampa Palms.
Transparency: Bipartisan District Advisory Council
Establish a first-in-the-nation bipartisan District Advisory Council, with the county chairs of Polk, Pasco, and Hillsborough from both parties, along with respected community leaders.
This panel should advise the congressional office on practices and priorities.
Priority ranking: People Over Lobbyists
Calls and emails from individuals and community groups should be responded to in a timely manner.
Currently emails take ages to be acknowledged and even less to be responded to. The voiceless should be the priority—not the well-connected
Work Ethic: Work for us.
